Our Mission & Values

The Lawn Legacy Project was created after witnessing how overgrown yards were affecting the mental health, mobility, and safety of aging community members—many of whom had no one left to help. At the same time, local youth were eager to work, but struggling to find purpose-driven opportunities.

This program brings those needs together—restoring pride in the homes of our elders while investing in the potential of our young people.

Our Mission

To enhance the quality of life for seniors,  individuals with disabilites, and veterans in underserved communities through lawn care assistance, while offering paid workforce opportunities and mentorship to local youth.

Our Values

Community First

We serve with compassion, understanding that every yard we mow is more than just grass—it’s someone’s story, someone’s home.

Youth Empowerment

We don’t just provide jobs—we mentor, encourage, and guide. Our goal is to prepare youth for careers, college, and lifelong service.

Dignity and Respect

We honor every person we serve. Whether a veteran, senior, or someone with a disability, they deserve to feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Stewardship

We treat every donated dollar, every piece of equipment, and every opportunity as a chance to do good and make it count.

The Lawn Legacy Project is a nonprofit based in the heart of the Mississippi Delta with a mission rooted in dignity, community, and connection. We believe that a well-tended yard does more than beautify a neighborhood—it restores pride, reduces isolation, and strengthens the bond between generations.

Our Board

The members of our board of directors are thought leaders who have made a significant contribution to our society. Each and every one of them brings a unique set of skills and expertise to our organization.
